ABOUT MICHELLE

A native of Minnesota, Michelle grew up in a loving family, but frequently felt misunderstood and discouraged to embrace her identity as a bi-racial individual. This fueled her desire to open a community center where people from all different races and backgrounds could belong, feel loved, and walk in their true identity. Ten years after graduating from the U of MN Carlson School of Management with a business degree, Michelle found TreeHouse, who’s mission and vision aligned perfectly with her calling to help struggling youth and their families.

MICHELLE’S PASSION

Michelle's life experiences have created a passion in her to see people walking in freedom and experiencing ongoing transformation.  Her presence creates an atmosphere of hope and empowerment where individuals are given a safe space to struggle, the courage to embrace who they are and the power to live out their potential.  Her gift to help others navigate life’s obstacles leads to freedom from destructive thought patterns and behaviors that keep people stuck in negative cycles.  Her wisdom and encouragement inspire others to think differently and to embrace a life of Godly adventure, possibility and growth.   Those who have had the honor of journeying with her experience interior freedom, ongoing life transformation and go on to become  social workers, teachers, social justice advocates, lawyers, good neighbors, community leaders and much more.   Michelle has been featured on TEDx stages, Good Morning America, local news stations and papers,  in youth-focused guidebooks, training modules, fundraisers, business luncheons,  college panels, parent and leadership conferences, etc. to speak on the topic of mental and spiritual health and its impact on our communities.

But the accomplishment she’s most proud of is her children.  She describes them as some of the greatest human beings on the planet.  They are the fruit of her labor and the pride of her life.
